    Is it a Real Emergency?

There is a $250 penalty for using the emergency room (ER) in a non-emergency situation. In 2020, each time you visit the ER for a non-emergency:

    • If you have not met your deductible, the first $250 of the visit will not apply to your 2020 deductible or your out-of-pocket (OOP) maximum.
    • If you have met your deductible, Newell Brands' coinsurance will not be applied to the first $250 and will not apply to your 2020 OOP maximum.
    • If you have met the OOP maximum, you are responsible for the first $250, then Newell Brands will pay 100% for eligible expenses above that amount.
