Adoption & Surrogacy Assistance Program (US)

Newell Brands Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement Program, administered by WINFertility, is offered to eligible employees who choose to build their families through adoption and/or surrogacy. The program helps cover a portion of the expenses associated with adopting a child 18 years or younger or when using a surrogate to assist in carrying and giving birth to a child.

WINFertility provides inclusive family building solutions, personal guidance with nurse care advocates, education materials on adoption or surrogacy process, referrals for care and more to help you along your family building journey. Eligible employees are not required to use all the resources of the Program, including WIN's network of surrogacy agencies. Learn more.

Eligibility

To be eligible for reimbursement under the Program, at the time (1) the adoption/surrogacy is "Legally Finalized," (2) reimbursement is requested, and (3) reimbursement is made, meet the following requirements:

  • Be actively at work for Newell Brands as a regular non-union U.S. employee scheduled to work a minimum of 30 hours per week

  • Must have completed 90 days of employment prior to birth or adoption of child

  • Intend to become the legal parent of the child adopted or of the child born through U.S.-based surrogate (an "Intended Parent') and use a U.S.-based agency or attorney

Fertility*

$25,000 lifetime maximum benefit toward eligible expenses related to fertility treatment and $10,000 lifetime maximum benefit toward eligible expenses related to fertility medications. 

Adoption

$15,000 reimbursement for each adoption process, with a $30,000 lifetime maximum reimbursement toward eligible expense related to adoption.

Surrogacy

$30,000 lifetime maximum benefit toward eligible expenses related to surrogacy.
